Apple Country Chiropractic Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well

Your Williamson chiropractor knows your spine! Apple Country Chiropractic knows anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor learned much about anatomy of the spine and puts that knowledge to use every day. Knowledge of the spine’s anatomy is always at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient walks into the practice! It’s so exciting! (Aren’t you glad someone finds it exciting?)

LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL

Going through school, we’re all guilty of learning only to pass a test. Going to professional school, such learning is more important than ever since it will affect everyday work. (How much do you remember from your school days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists discovered that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy teaching during chiropractic school was advantageous for clinical practice, permitting better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical information to support a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian study of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners rated their knowledge of anatomy and proved it in a test showing their knowledge. This was compared to the equivalent in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors showed that they retained their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – contradicting the thought that practicing chiropractors may not retain it after a period of time. Knowledge of anatomy is used daily in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors know their anatomy. (2) Your Williamson chiropractor does! Just ask to find out more.

SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Performing spinal manipulation daily utilizes knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most common reasons people reported seeking chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The most common treatment they experienced were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions get plenty of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But positive side effects of chiropractic care emerge in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers described the immediate effects of manual therapy to the upper thoracic spine on cardiovascular autonomic control of musculoskeletal pain patients (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers explained that musculoskeletal pain increased the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come experience these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on knowledge of the spine’s anatomy.
